Booklovers! Drawing for new book, Flashlight Memories

Are you an avid reader? Do you love books? Are many of your childhood memories related to books? Then you will love Flashlight Memories from Silver Boomer Books. From the back cover: Step back in time with us as we visit some of our earliest reading memories. Some people grew their love of reading from cuddles and the sound of a loved one’s voice, while others clung to books against threats of deprivation- greedy and starving for words. The common, abundant thread through these stories is “imagination.” Flashlight Memories will call to mind your childhood reading memories through essays and poems of humor, drama, strength and perseverance.

I will be giving away two copies of this book that includes an essay of mine. To enter this drawing, just leave a comment below before Monday morning, April 18th. Two winners will be drawn from the entries.

Book sounds wonderful and I would love to see what you wrote. Will never forget the sound of my daddy bass voice reading me bedtime stories!

Sounds like a great book to read. It would be interesting to see how my reading memories are similar/different from other people. Love to read your essay. You are a great writer, Mary! Keep up the good work!

So many books, so little time…I even felt that way as a child, growing up a few blocks away from the library. How wonderful it was of our parents to instill a love of reading in us..to encourage it, to let us spend many hours at the library reading, and then to also be allowed to bring many books home. I am so happy reading a really good book….love, love, love it!

Mary, you know I would love this book. I actually submitted an essay for this issue, but never heard back. Would guess it’s not in there!
