This comment in the mail today from a woman responding to my call for submissions for coupon stories (she’s been using coupons for 50 years):
“I’m a widow, alone. I can read anytime I want, night or day. Many believe I live a lonely life, but oh, how I wish everybody had the luxury of such loneliness. People who don’t read don’t realize what a pleasure books are. I almost feel sorry for them.”
Now, I don’t wish my husband or children away in order to live the quiet life, but this comment fits in well with my morning’s post about enjoying some unaccustomed alone time.
