Thank the good Lord for sisters, especially a sister who picks me up four times a week and walks with me, or I wonder if I would ever remove myself from my desk chair. Look at me today; I started the day out working on a rough draft, then transferred that onto the computer, printed it out to look at later, and then I set out to bookmark my favorites onto my new computer, the computer my son had set up last night amidst a very messy office. Of course I had to check out my favorite sites at the same time so that took most of my morning.
Then the mail arrived, and my new copy of the 2010 Writer’s Market Deluxe Edition, and along with it, a code inside that allows me a free year of access to this website:
where I perused the lists of publishers, agents, contests, and magazine markets. Before I knew it, a good hour had elaspsed and the kids were begging me for lunch, the lunch I’d forgotten to make.
I was more than willing to go to the grocery store to pick up bread, milk, a big bag of oranges, and the lunch they requested; tortilla chips and cheese sauce. I wanted to get out of the house and away from my computer chair. But now, of course, I am right back on it, telling you about the Writer’s Digest Market, but resisting the urge to check it out again this afternoon.
I’ve got an office to clean.
